Encirca consolidates its lead at the top of our December 2009 .pro reg fee survey with new registration and transfer fees of USD $14.95, and renewal fees of $19.95.

Domain People and Hostway are relatively competitive on price. However, service quality is still a big concern. Several .pro registrants have expressed frustration about receiving renewal reminders and .pro domains showing in accounts after they have been transferred. Registrants have also had negative experiences with OVH. I personally find their website navigation confusing and when I trialed several transfers from Encirca something went wrong every time and it took alot of effort to get it put right.

We still advise .pro registrants to avoid Network Solutions and award it a 1 star rating. It's the biggest .pro registrar by volume at July 2009 but also one of the most expensive. Our advice is switch to Encirca, they have a track record of keeping prices low and the best reputation among .pro registrants for good customer service.

Gandi is the least competitive .pro registrar surveyed. We question why anybody would choose to keep their .pro domains there.
